Lapco Autospirit Aluminum Barrel

lapco-autospirit-aluminum-barrel.jpg

This is not a barrel I’m too familiar with, but people often refer to it as the most gas efficient and accurate 12″ barrels available. I can agree with that since the Lapco Autospirit isn’t heavily ported like the Dye or Smart Parts. This allows you to run a lower pressure while maintaining the same volume of gas spent. The thing is very light, but well balanced on your gun. It’s supposed to be self cleaning, but my advice is carrying a squeegee, just in case. Breaks are possible since the recommended paint is the small sized one. If you don’t match it right you’ll be breaking paint like crazy. You know what less porting means right – gas efficiency, but also noise. This one’s not different – the thing is loud and if you don’t like that you should be looking for a different barrel. Another thing I can put as a downside is the lack of sizes and colors. You can get the barrel in only 12in and if this is plenty for some, it can be a big setback for others. The price is around $50 and like with the JT One Piece Barrel I can’t really recommend it to you. There are just too many better performing barrels out there you can choose from. Check everything out before you make your decision. Anyway here’s the manufacturer’s info about this product:

“Its 12 inches long, has a .687″ inside diameter, a bead blasted finish, and porting. Small paint is recommended.”

JT One Piece Barrel

jt-one-piece-barrel.JPG

After the 2 Piece, here’s the review for the JT One Piece barrel. Just like with the 2 Piece I’ll review the thing, but won’t really recommend it to you since you can get something far better for the same price. This is one OK barrel and I can’t say anything better than that. As far as looks go – it’s very nice looking. Also relatively accurate – it works great in short to mid distance, but when it comes to long shots – forget about it. The thing is light, but not very durable. If you don’t take good care of it, it scratches very easily, but since that relate to almost all barrels I don’t think of is as a downside. The JT One Piece isn’t that quiet as the 2 Piece, but it’s also not too loud. You have to be careful with matching the paint to the bore size right, or you’ll get breaks. And even though the barrel self-cleans it takes a squeegee to bring it to its best shape. As you see it’s nothing more than an average barrel. If you insist on it you can find it for about $50, but my advice is check out for something else. For $50 you can get yourself something less problematic and with better performance. Look around, it’s not like you don’t have a choice. And for those who insist here’s some info about the One Piece:

“This One Piece JT aluminum barrel with Helix drillings is available in various lengths and fits Viewloader, Brass Eagle and JT markers, Spyder and Piranha.”

JT 2 Piece Barrels

Order your cheap JT 2 Piece Barrels from here.

jt-2-piece-barrels.jpg

The JT 2 Piece barrel is another good one out there, but certainly not my favorite. Yes, the thing has its advantages, but for the price it’s going you can absolutely find something better. Starting with the fact that it’s a two piece – you can change backs and fronts and get pretty much every length and bore size you need. The thing is also pretty accurate and quiet. And while some people claim it’s kinda hard to clean I think that’s not a big problem. The barrel self-cleans fairly well and with the right paint to bore size you may not even experience a break to clean. So here’s the info for this product before we continue:

“The entire set consists of a .690, .688 and .686 backs and 12″, 14″ or 16″ inch fronts. Available for the Angel, Autococker, & Spyder.”

As I said the barrel is not my favorite and there’s a reason why. The price you have to pay for it is about $90 and while this is not that much for the barrel itself and for the performance level you’re getting of it, the separate pieces (backs and fronts) alone can add up a lot to the price. Another thing I don’t like is the fact that the set comes with .686, .688 and .690. I think it would be much better if there was a wider range of bore sizes like .686, .689 and a .691. I just think this way the barrel would make a more versatile piece of gear. And for those who care about weight, you should know that the JT 2 Piece isn’t the lightest. The back is stainless steel and that adds up to the weight quite a bit. It makes it stronger though, but still. So those are my reasons against this barrel. It’s a matter of personal preference of course, but since I’ve reviewed barrel kits just as good as this barrel, that you can get for about $150 I can’t really recommend the 2 Piece as a first option barrel.

J&J Performance Full Tilt Two Piece Barrels

Order your cheap J&J Performance Full Tilt Two Piece Barrels from here.

jj-performance-full-tilt-two-piece-barrels.jpg

If the only setback for you to get the J&J Full Tilt barrel was that it’s one piece, here’s your solution. With the Full Tilt Two Piece you can chance lengths easily and it performs just as good as the Full Tilt. It shoots accurate and consistent, it’s very quiet and durable and it looks awesome. The thing is extremely easy to clean. You don’t need any squeegees, just shoot through the break a couple of times and the barrel works like a charm again. Breaks are not often if you match the paint to the bore size correctly, but since you have only one bore size you should really be careful with that. Here’s the manufacturer’s info about this barrel:

“The J & J 2-piece ceramic barrel is the best of both worlds for your paintball marker. The accuracy of the Full-Tilt series and the cleaning of a ceramic barrel are combined in this design. This two piece barrel has interchangable tips. The 12″, 14″, and 16″ tips are $20 each.”

There’s just one thing players put as a downside for this barrel – its weight. It’s not much heavier than the other barrels on the market, but can absolutely find something lighter. The extra weight comes from the stainless steel back, but that also mean that the barrel is as durable as it gets. And the weight doesn’t really affect the balance of the gun. It just takes some getting used to and you should be fine with it. The price is pretty fair if you ask me. You can get the Full Tilt Two Piece for about $55 which is not bad at all. And then if you want any other of the tips you can get them for $20 each. In my opinion that’s a great deal.

J&J Performance Full Tilt Ceramic

Yet another great barrel from the J&J Performance. I know it’s confusing when there are so many good barrels out there, but I can’t call the black white and give it a bad review when it is just awesome. So you just have to go with your personal preference and get the one that you feel fits you best. And back to the Full Tilt by J&J – for the money this thing goes (about $55) it’s definitely in the list of consideration. It performs great. If I have to be fair it performs better than anything by J&J I’ve reviewed so far. It’s even more accurate (if that’s possible), quieter (that’s for real, your opponents can’t hear anything) and even lighter. You’ll be amazed. It’s also strongly made and even if it feels fragile you can trust it completely. It self-cleans, but if you match the paint to bore size right you may not even need to see it self-clean. Here’s the info for it:

“Unquestionably the most technically advanced precision-machined barrel system ever designed. Every back half in the set is measured three times for accuracy and engineered to greatly increase the performance of your marker and game. This powerful combination promotes reduced friction and increase the accuracy level of your gun tremendously.”

Just like with the other J&J’s products there’s nothing to be put as a downside. The thing is nearly flawless. Sometimes it can scratch easily, but if take good care of it I don’t think you’ll have a problem with that. Really – for the price of $55 this thing performs awesome. It can easily outperform some of the most expensive barrels out there and if you’re thinking of getting it, know that you’re not making a mistake.

J&J Performance Edge Elite Barrel Kit

Order your cheap J&J Performance Edge Elite Barrel Kit from here.

jj-performance-edge-elite-barrel-kit.jpg

The Edge Elite barrel kit makes the choice of barrel even more difficult. Every barrel kit I’ve reviewed till now is worth getting and this one doesn’t make a difference. You get 8 pieces that practically cover everything you need from a barrel. The performance of this thing is amazing. It’s dead accurate no matter what length you’re using. It’s quiet and very light. Sometimes breaks are possible, but the thing is self cleaning so you don’t have to worry about squeegees, just one or two shots through the break and you’re all set and shooting darts again. So here’s the manufacturer’s info about it:

” Unquestionably the most technically advanced precision-machined barrel system ever designed. Every back half in the set is measured three times for accuracy, and engineered to greatly increase the performance of your gun and game. This powerful combination promotes reduced friction and increases the accuracy level of your gun tremendously. The top of the line Edge System to make you the elite player. You’ll be able to shoot every brand of paint on the market with complete accuracy. With 5 control bores (.682, .685, .688, .691, .693) and a 10″, 12″ and 14″ front. Comes in a zipper close protective carrying case.

There’s really nothing bad to be said about the J&J Edge Elite Barrel Kit. If you take care of it while playing it will do its job perfectly. Maybe the biggest advantage that this barrel kit has over the others is its price. You can get if for only about $100, which is really cheap considering the other kits sometimes get over $200. $100 for 8 piece barrel kit is practically the best deal you can get. And not that you know you can trust its performance too, you should definitely consider it a buy.

J&J Performance Ceramic Barrels

jj-performance-ceramic-barrels.jpg

This one really deserves attention. You may think it’s some sort of a junk barrel since it costs only about $40 but you can’t be more wrong about it. The J&J Performance Ceramic Barrel is absolutely worth double that price or even more, because of its great performance. It’s not only light and extremely accurate, it’s also self cleaning. And that’s not some advertisement trick, it’s the real deal. If you ever get a break with it, it takes only one or two shots through and you’re back in business. The barrel looks amazingly good. You don’t get too many color options, but black is plenty sometimes. Also – the barrel is very, very quiet. Pretty much half of it is porting so you can’t really expect it to be noisy. Here’s the manufacturer’s description before we continue:

“While the ceramic is being applied teflon is injected into the pores of the aluminum, resulting in the slickest, yet most durable surface in the world. These barrels are quiet, light, and accurate. Available in 12″, 14″, 16″, and 20″ for most guns.”

The only bad thing is that it scratches easily, but that’s true to most of the barrels out there if you don’t care of them too much. Other than that the barrel is just perfect. And the price is absolutely worth mentioning again – only about $40. If you can’t afford something expensive, absolutely consider this one. It competes with the best of them all to well to be missed out.

Hammerhead Shark Tooth Rifled Barrel

Order your cheap Hammerhead Shark Tooth Rifled Barrel from here.

hammerhead-shark-tooth-rifled-barrel.jpg

Ok, one more Hammerhead and we’re done. The Shark Tooth Rifled Barrel is not something everyone will like, but I thought to review it anyway. Starting with the size – the thing is only about 5 in long and this is a major setback for many of the players. It’s pretty accurate though, especially in close to mid range, but when it comes to long distances you can’t really count on it. It really is in its best when used in scenario or woodsball games. The rifling helps a bit, just like with the other HHs. Breaking balls is something you can forget about. I mean, the thing is so short you probably have to use the crappiest paint in the world to manage to break a ball. If you’re that unlucky though, be prepared for some hard cleaning job. Forget about shooting through the paint, the squeegee is your only option. Short also means lack of good porting, so be prepared for one loud barrel. It’s not too bad if you ask me, but it will certainly give out your position. Being short can also be an advantage. The thing makes the gun very compact and light. It absolutely increases maneuverability. If you like that, you can get the Shark Tooth for about $50. Read the following info about it and consider everything written before you make your decision:

“Our barrels are manufactured to exacting tolerances for accuracy, sound displacement and weight. Each barrel is carefully milled, micro-honed and polished to ensure these tolerances do not deviate from our engineering parameters. The HammerHead barrel has been distinctly designed with a trademarked scallop pattern. This is to ensure that is it an authentic HammerHead barrel. Each Barrel carries a money-back
warranty against manufacturing defects. The “Shark Tooth Rifled Barrel” can be used in both woods and in scenario as well.”

Evil XXX Barrel

Order your cheap Evil XXX Barrel from here.

evil-xxx-barrel.jpg

The XXX is pretty rare sight. It’s certainly not the most popular barrel out there, but if you can get your hands on one you should definitely consider getting it. First off because it’s cheap. And yes, there are many cheap barrels on the market, but nothing comes to be as good as this one considering the money. It costs around $30 and performs as good as a $100 barrel. It’s absolutely accurate, quiet, and pretty easy to clean. It’s not self-cleaning, but 2-3 shots through it after a break will pretty much do the job. It looks great in my opinion and I’m sure you’re gonna like it very much if you decide to get it (if you can find it of course). So here’s the manufacturer’s info:

“We made the smoothest barrel ever. Buy a profilometer and try it. Make certain it is a good one or it won’t read low enough because our barrels must be a micro finish of 2 to 5 micro inches and two is as low as you can go… so have faith that no one is going to top this baby. If you really want to have fun, use the profilometer on some other ‘high end’ barrels in the industry, then test a stock piranha barrel and see that they read the same in most cases and actually worse in others…. so what did you pay all that money for? Plus we actually reject parts that are not the specified tolerance of 0.0007 of the bore label. In addition, our fronts have crazy, hard to produce, angled porting that not only aids in the cleaning of the dreaded broke ball it also takes the turbulence of the ball to put it out there long and straight.
Please enjoy this labor of love, we certainly do.
Now, what that all means is that we have the most accurate sniper barrel on the market, for the most outrageous price!”

There’s just one thing on the bad side – something I don’t even consider a downside, but still worth mentioning – people say the thing is kind heavy. I’m sure once you get used to it everything will be just fine, but anyway it’s something worth knowing. So yet again – if you can find the barrel get it. For the money it’s priced, it’s a great deal. Don’t miss it.

Evil Ultra Tips

Order your cheap Evil Ultra Tips from here.

evil-ultra-tips.jpg

The Evil Ultra tip is a super light-weight 12″ front for the Evil Pipe System. Basically the only difference is in the looks, so if you want to spice things up some more you should go with this one and not the normal Pipe tips. Really there’s no difference – the thing is just as accurate, as light and as easy to clean. Even better – it is now a little bit more durable. It’s still loud though…even louder as it has even more porting than the regular tip. It’s a matter of personal opinion of course, but I tend to like the regular tip better. If you’re on the opposite opinion though you can get the Ultra tips for about $40. Decide for yourself if they’re worthy. Here’s the manufacturer’s info about it:

“The name of this thing makes me laugh. Every time I hear it, it makes me think of Transformers or Voltron. Basically with these you can make your pimp ass pipe even cooler. All the kids at your field will want to be like you and have ultra tips on their pipes. Well what makes these different, you ask? As it so happens I will tell you. Ultra tips are like adding heated seats to your car, not absolutely necessary, but in the same case absolutely necessary. It just makes you cooler, and how can you ever put a price on coolness.”
